JAKARTA – The Humanitarian Forum Indonesia (HFI) recently organized a collaborative workshop focused on recovery efforts for flood and landslide-affected areas in Sumatra. Transitioning to the Recovery Phase
As of early 2026, disaster management efforts in Sumatra have largely transitioned into the recovery phase, although certain regions remain under emergency response status. HFI emphasized the need to map member activities to identify synergy opportunities, ensuring a more significant impact on affected communities.

The meeting concluded with a strong emphasis on cluster-based coordination. HFI members are encouraged to take active roles in disaster management clusters and sub-clusters at the district and city levels, ensuring that interventions remain aligned with the specific needs of each local area.
