BIREUEN, ACEH – Humanitarian Forum Indonesia (HFI) has received aid from the Indonesian Philanthropy Association (PFI) totaling IDR 50,000,000 (Fifty-Four Million Rupiah*) for flood and landslide disaster relief in Sumatra. This initiative is a concrete expression of solidarity with the survivors of the natural disasters that have struck the Sumatra region. The aid was distributed on Monday, December 22, 2025, in Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province.
The distribution was carried out symbolically by Humanitarian Forum Indonesia (HFI), representing the philanthropy network, and was subsequently channeled through three HFI member organizations: Human Initiative, Rumah Zakat, and Dompet Dhuafa.
The funds are allocated to support disaster management in the hardest-hit areas of Bireuen Regency. These areas previously reported significant damage to infrastructure and residential housing following high-intensity rainfall that triggered widespread flooding and landslides.
The selection of Human Initiative, Rumah Zakat, and Dompet Dhuafa as distribution partners was based on their proven track record and the immediate readiness of their personnel already stationed at the disaster sites.
Widowati, the Executive Director of HFI, stated that this collaboration embodies the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) across different organizations.
“This assistance is expected to meet the basic needs of survivors, ranging from food logistics to other emergency requirements. The synergy between HFI, PFI, and HFI member agencies ensures effective disaster management on the ground,” she said.
Human Initiative, Rumah Zakat, and Dompet Dhuafa have committed to the immediate distribution of this mandate to the survivors in Bireuen, Aceh.
