SOREANG, BANDUNG REGENCY – Humanitarian Forum Indonesia (HFI) successfully held its 7th General Assembly (RUA) on Friday, November 21, 2025. Located in Soreang, Bandung Regency, West Java, this major triennial event carried the primary mission of strengthening the organizational structure through leadership restructuring.

This year, Rumah Zakat had the honor of hosting the assembly, welcoming delegates from various HFI member humanitarian organizations across Indonesia in an atmosphere filled with collaboration and a shared humanitarian spirit.

Main Agenda: Restructuring for Future Challenges

The primary focus of this 7th General Assembly was to refresh and fill strategic positions within the HFI organizational structure. This restructuring is considered crucial to ensure the organization remains agile in responding to increasingly complex global and national humanitarian challenges.

The election and appointment process covered four core elements of HFI leadership: the Board of Trustees, the Board of Supervisors, the Executive Board, and the Executive Director.

Leadership Lineup for the 2025–2028 Period

Following a democratic process of deliberation and consensus, the forum officially appointed the new leadership team that will oversee HFI’s vision for the next three years:

Prof. Syafiq Mughni as the elected Chair of the HFI Board of Trustees.

M. Ali Yusuf as the Chair of the HFI Board of Supervisors.

Romi Ardiansyah as the elected Chair of the HFI Executive Board.

Widowati as the elected Executive Director of HFI.

The leadership for the 2025–2028 period is expected to bring new breakthroughs in coordination among humanitarian agencies in Indonesia.

“This restructuring is not merely a change of faces, but a strengthening of our foundation so that HFI continues to be a solid bridge of synergy for humanitarian organizations across all faiths and backgrounds,” said Widowati.

The event in Soreang received high praise from participants. As the host, Rumah Zakat was recognized for successfully creating a conducive environment for the organization’s critical decision-making processes.
